Are Aches and Pains, Low Sex Drive, and Poor Sleep Just Part of Aging?

You might think so, but it is not true! There's a growing number of research articles showing the correlation between the stress in the nervous system, and a poor immune system. They go hand in hand. When we have been in a chronic stress response, our ability to relax, repair, renew, digest, rest and sleep has been diminished.

“Every stress leaves an indelible scar, and the organism pays for its survival after a stressful situation by becoming a little older.” Hans Selye (1907-1982)

Dr. Hans Seyle was an Austrian/Canadian endocrinologist who conducted extensive research on stress and it’s effect on the body. This quote summarizes his belief on how stress affects the human body by aging and other natural body responses that occur when we encounter various stresses in our daily lives.

When you have been under prolonged stress over an extended period of time, your adrenal glands can become exhausted. When that happens, your health can cascade downward! Your circulation can become a problem, which in turn reduces your circulation to your reproductive organs FIRST as they are not vital to life. Your body is designed to help you, so it will try to get increased circulation to your heart and organs first. This happens to both men and women, and we often find our sex drive and interest diminishes, as well as performance. This can be reversed easily and naturally!

Stress can create too many acids in the body as well. Esepcially if we are eating fast foods, sugar, coffee, etc. Again, your body is designed to help you, so it will dump excessive acids into your joints to protect your organs. Hence, aches and pains as well as inflammation are part of this process. Learning to DE-stress, eat healthy alkalizing foods, using good omega oils and other anti-inflammatory herbs can make a world of difference. Don't let those aches, pains, and stiffness get worse! It is NOT a normal sign of aging, but it is common.

How about poor sleep? When you can't relax from worry, tension, and stress, your body has been used to having some adrenaline kick in to keep you going, even if you are tired. If you have a hard time falling asleep, or staying asleep, it could be because as soon as you start to think about stressful things, a little burst of adrenaline goes out into your blood stream. When this happens you can be sure you won't be falling back to sleep for awhile!

A sign of poor adrenal function is when you can't fall asleep easily, or stay up too late. Then you may even wake up during the night and not be able to go back to sleep for awhile. It seems like early morning can be your best sleep time, until that alarm goes off! If you wake up tired and it takes all morning to get your energy going, you may have adrenal fatigue. Using some natural sleep aids to help you relax, calm your nervous system, and even increase melatonin a bit, can help you easily fall asleep, and wake up refreshed!

All of these things (and more) might seem normal as we age, but don't confuse 'normal' with 'common'. It is very common for many people to be over stresses from a number of different things. But we can learn to de-stress and take much better care of ourselves, and actually age gracefully, staying vital and energetic as we go. We invite you to learn more, use some quality professional-grade natural supplements, and find ways to naturally de-stress, like our Zen 12 meditation programs.
